V-Sync causes video lag... higher than 60FPS means no V-Sync So yes it would mean less lag if you went over 60FPS also V-Sync has one other MAJOR downside. Tearing can happen at below 60FPS so V-Sync limits your frame rates to other levels if you are not getting a solid 60FPS... so I believe it is 60,45,40,30, which is 1/1 3/4 2/3 then 1/2 of your refresh rate so no tearing. V-Vsync helps at all of those frame rates by dropping an already drawn frame instead of making the frame wait its turn.
