It's Doctor Hiro Ota with the sweet bell-bottoms- he wrestled in a number of territories, mostly LA and SF...

This match isn't from 1976. Hector Guerrero does a run in in Part 2 and he didn't debut in LA until 1978 which is when this match took place. Still a great post.

This is extraordinarily rare footage. There's a 17-DVD bootleg set online, and even that has no matches before November 1977. Thank you for these 1976 matches.

Hey there. Yes, I would be most interested in seeing or possibly even purchasing some of this footage on either VHS or DVD format.

I know what you mean, I searched for years before I was able to find footage, and I'm still looking for more. It's hard, because not only are they rare, most collector's don't want anyone else to have it. But I've got several hours worth on dvd, so if you're still interested, let me know.

KMEX is a Los Angeles station. In fact, they are the Los Angeles affiliate for Univision.

However, I wish someone could find the English broadcasts that aired on KBSC Channel 52, which, ironically, is now a Spanish language station under the call letters KVEA. The English broadcast team were Gene LaBelle with Chavo doing color and Jeff Walton (who would go on to become manager Tux Newman in Memphis) would handle the interviews.

I do not know if KMEX operated in the Bay area since I did not live there. But like I said, I sure remember if being out here in Los Angeles.
