**Background story: My grandparents saw occasionally that a wild cat was around their house, and left some food out for it, and step by step, they got it to get into the house. From there, they bought a collar, gave the cat shots and everything. The cat is free to come in the house or just stay outside, so as a cat who has known an "owner" for the majority of its life, the cat feels a need to protect it. So to recap, this isn't cruel- what it is, is nature. So deal with it if you don't like it.
