A project for school... built the whole level using Unreal Editor, 3DS Max, Photoshop. Video edited with Premiere, all sound edited and synced with Audacity. Voice is myself, and level music by my boyfriend.

  • This seems better than FPS Creator. I'm still trying to get the full version free, but I can't :(

  • It's so cheap though! I'm planning on getting the Unreal 3 engine soon just to experiment with it. It's admittedly been a while since i've messed with 3D, but I hope to remedy that soon. I haven't checked out FPS Creator though. Think it's worth trying?

  • that music sounds familliar, like the drum music in a scene from 'aliens'

  • Been meaning to try to find that drum music you're talking about, by the way. I'm curious!

  • @shojigami FPS creator is in my opinion not worth trying. It's pretty much just a wayyy less advanced and easy version of unreal editor. But it is quite fun to mess around with. :D

  • I think that for an undeground storage facility you should add some cargo doos to the walls. They dont have to be functional, just make the places seem like it's functional, or at least that it once was.

Also, add some special lights to your light fixtures to make them appear to glow. Just set the fixture meshes to special lit, add a light beneath them, and set the light to special light. That will light up the fixtures without lighting up the surroundings.

  • Hahah yea I neglected commenting for a while, then did a bunch of comments at once. Sorry. More boxes & shelves sounds like a good idea. Project was over years ago, but I'm still grateful to hear useful suggestions for the next time I might go back into Unreal. This class was taken from the Art Institute Online. Had 5.5 weeks to build the level, model, texture, light, and place the objects. 5.5 weeks to create and sync the sounds. I think I worked out the pathing during the sound class though.

  • I got the unreal engine 3, its the best it looks and editing tools, or if you want try using Cryteks Sandbox2.

  • Then add a massive storage facility, just one, such as a big fridge as in a fridge the size of a living room, you know the ones you get in bakery's, and then make it all blue and add a tint of fog.

Then add lots of meat, boxes, food and shelves of just everything you would expect in a indoor storage facility, and I posted that comment over 7 months ago, took some time to reply back :D.

Also you said its a project for school, what school?

  • Good suggestions indeed! It was supposed to be an underground storage area, but I guess that's not communicated clearly enough. Any suggestions for making it look more like it's not supposed to have windows and open air?
