Some Facts to clear up this mess. I'm german and unless I'm very much mistaken: - The minimal Speed our Autobahns is 60km/h. - The recommended speed for the unlimited parts is 120km/h - 65% is limited, mostley to 120km/h, 100 km/h or in the rain to 80. - The other 35% is indeed unlimited. In theory, you could max a Bugatti Veyron and by law, noonecan stop you ;-)
-The 'recommended' speed is 130 km/h. -To drive on the german autobahns your car must be capable of 100 km/h, which is the minimum speed limit, or else the police will pull you over.
My dad was maxing at 260 km/h, but I hope one day, eventually, I'll drive on it myself. Very strict road regulations.
I wish Irish motorways didn't have speed limits, but seriously, we NEED minimum speed limits because of all the unbelievable slow drivers.
You mean autobahn? It has a very strict speed policy. The speed limit cannot be ignored even there! It's 130km/h MINIMAL speed. If you go slower you put everyone to danger as you become a serious obstacle. It may be reverse logic for speeding at first, but it's relative speed of traffic being focused here. Usual speed limits deal both with relative traffic speed for safe movement, and road conditions. Now if you have a road designed for 130+ kmh, you only have to play safe to others.
what the fuck are you talking about? who says there is a minimal speed of 130km/h? the minimal speed is 60 km/h. there are at least 2 sometimes even 4 lanes for the traffic. slower vehicles like trucks whose speed is limited to 80 km/h drive on the far right side.
What makes you think you should start with a fuck word? Okay, put 60 instead of 130 in second (out of 3) paragraph, where i mistook, and read again. Maybe you'll then find that i was talking about general logic behind these rules, not marking the exact speeds.
I heard numerous times about German autobahn having no upper limit, but after checking on wiki it makes little difference from our autostrades, except 130 is top.
I'll take this information into account when i go to Germany) Thanx.
if it's rainy on some bridges the speed will be limited to 100 km/h. if there are road works there will be signs which tell you to drive 80. and if the road is too curvy there might be a limit of 130 mp/h.
but everywhereelse there won't be any limit.
as far as i know only in germany, the isle of men, tibet, bhutan, uganda and nepal have no speed restricitions.
