This is a wonderful old celebration song - a true carol.
This version from Cornwall is at least 700 years old; but it may have its origins elsewhere, in which case, it could be much older.
Our English translation is from a version written in Middle Cornish.
Written as a love-song from Jehovah to His people, the style is similar to that of Song of Solomon or some of the songs in Hosea and Isaiah.
Here, Jehovah is the suitor and we (his people, individually) are His True Love.
Dancing was often used, anciently, as a metaphor for life - a good dance was a life well lived.
This is the only song from this performance where Logan sings the solo/lead.
Bill plays the Baritone Ukulele, Logan sings the verse, and Faith joins him on the refrain for the callbacks.
