  • hey man thanks for the vid, QUESTION

When I plug everything in my macbook pro screen flashes blue for a second. I click on detect displays but nothing happens. I have tried with 3 different monitors all new and 2 different macbooks along with 2 different brand mini hdmi adapters and I am still getting the same result. And the monitors just say no signal. Do you know what the problem is?

  • @mdrootz Hey, sorry about the wait on your question. Try this, go to system settings, displays, and then click detect displays there. If that doesn't work, make sure that all of your cables are plugged in correct and secure. Restart your Mac & try again. Hope it works :)

  • If you put the hdmi cord into an xbox instead of a tv, will you be able to play xbox 360 on your mac?

  • @ProneBlockProduction No, but there are ways that you can view game systems on your mac. I may do a tutorial on that sometime soon.

  • I like your tutorial.

    Really nice and clear.

I got the HDMI cable free from the cable company TWC. I just ask for an extra HDMI and he gave it to me. A nice tip was involved.

Apple sells a HDMI adapter for 39.99 should I get that one or that one you were using?

  • @KhyronDesintegrado I wouldn't recommend spending $39.99 on an hdmi adapter. I recommend the MonoPrice adapter that I used in this video. I've been using it for months and it hasn't failed me yet.

  • @mdrootz just bought the cables, too. n i have the same issue.

  • Amazon has both cables on a bundle Dale fir less than 7 bucks

  • This tutorial helped me so much, But I still have a problem. I can finally get the picture to come up on my tv, but it keeps flickering on and off, you see the computer screen, then black, then computer screen.....

Could this be one of the cables? I have double checked to make sure everything is hooked in where it should be and it's in nice and tight.

    Any clue?

  • COuld this mean I could connect a xbox to display on my mac with the correct software?

  • Thank you sir for the video!
