Hello, I'm Paul Elkins of http://www.highmileagetrikes.blogspot.com
This video shows a homeless push cart based on my bicycle camper that I used at burning man. Possibly the worlds smallest home, this mini or micro home delves into the homeless issue of today. Should ones home be made of cardboard? Should a stolen grocery cart be the only means of carrying one's belongings around? I don't think so. Let's take a look at a possibility.

  • You may notice I put my name in front of all my videos. This is because my ideas are so random, and typing my name in 'search' will bring up all my creations. The same goes for naming things. I choose simple names, not necessarily the best name, but one that will get the hits.

True on the government definition of 'homeless'. Our government is more concerned with things that bring about commerce, than helping the unfortunate. The latter is up to us.

  • I may work on another cart but made of Coroplastic and with bigger wheels. Thanks for the comment!

  • 5ft. 11Inches

  • bounce wisky. No they don't float, nor are they fire proof, or baseball bat proof.

After being on the street for a spell you learn a self defense weapon is crucial for survival.

  • Wow look what I found......OH SHIT THERE IS SOMEONE IN THERE....!!!!!!

  • i agree to a certain degree, of teaching a trade to prisoners.

    i'm anti- prison systems

  • @faard How about prison labor? Let their labor be used to serve the population rather than the corporations.

  • Interesting design, but anyone who thinks ideas like these are in any way a real solution to the homeless problem in America it very out of touch with what real homeless people face.

  • very interesting. But the person who lives in this is no longer homeless. They have a home. Call it the homelessness-eradicator. The definition of homeless needs revision. According to the government, you are homeless if you are of age, have moved out of your parents' home, and have moved back in. Or if you live with friends and don't pay rent.

Your little house is great, and I'll work some of these ideas into my "shed". What needs designing is a government that doesn't penalize mobility.

  • thats awsome, your a good man thinking of the homeless.

  • who will foot the bill to make these push cart?

homeless need hammer & nail, and place where no c.o.p.s. can bother them

  • put a tv in the cuboard thing in front.

  • Mr. Elkins: I'm very taken with your designs. The pushcart micro home is wonderful. I'm thinking that if it can eventually be made of a lighter weight material, hinged in sections so it can be taken apart (to a degree) for easier transport, and folded into its own smaller and easier to maneuver 'cart' with the accessories, then packaged for shipping (perhaps it can be wheeled around smaller to be set up later?) - it would be an easier sell to the homeless and those trying to help. I love it tho.
