    God, the fact that The Kinks are not one of the most popular bands of all time will never cease to amaze and baffle me! They deserve so much more credit than they get!

    yes Ray and the Kinks deserve more attention compared to overrated hype like Michael Jackson and U2 and Elton John and all those hideous members of the music establishment - if they wrote a song as good as this they would be milking it for decades

    I agree, pure genius mad songwriting skills. Up there with L&M, J&R, T&P, D&T, BG'S, etc. Too bad work and life gets in the way of listening to albums all evening like the younger days.

    I used to have this LP in the days of my youth... Being a Beatles kid the Kinks were the next band I really connected with ... this is one of the songs like Lady Genevieve that I played over & over ... soulful, romantic, whimsical, nostalgic, and a whole bunch of other pretty funny words too...
