This is the intro riff for blessed be your name by tree 63. This is a classic worship song and there was no accurate tab for this riff so I hope this helps. Like I said in the video it helps when playing on electric guitar versus acoustic.

  • hi...nice video. i just want to comment on your choice of chords.....jon, the electric player actually leaves his guitar tuned a half step down. he plays this song live in the key of d, relative to his half step down tuning.

  • I'll have to try that out, thanks

  • haha.. beginning is mary had a little lamb

  • Hey man, cool video, but i gotta say a few things. You only have to tell us that "everything is relative to the capo" and "add two to everything i say" once. not seven times or whatever it was (i didn't count). also, it would help if you played the riff at full tempo all the way through at the very beginning so we have an idea of what you are teaching.

  • nice job dude, thanks for the help.

  • hey thanks for this vid. could u send me the chords

  • another thing...the first chord is actually a D major chord, not a D minor. it would make very little musical sense if it were a D minor (and it would be really nasty dissonance), especially since your first note for the electric guitar riff is an F#, which is completely out of the D minor. hope that helps.

  • Great job with teaching it!!! Totally doing this one!

  • awesome vid bro, thanx for this vid, very informative and helpful. and yeah, the guy in tree63 plays a hollow body, hence the rich beautiful sound. and no, ur right, there is nothing correct on the internet. trust me i've looked. i actually tried playing this at the music store w/ a hollow body and it was much easier to play. my daughter and i sang this at church last night and i played in capo 2. i just chorded the intro b/c i wasn't sure about it. God bless u my friend
