Phase 1: MCU is unprogrammed.

Phase 2: MCU being programmed (red LED lights)

Phase 3: MCU runs the "flash the white LED" program it's just been programmed with.

Phase 4: once programmed, the MCU only needs power to run (just 2 wires).

  • I can't find the schematic on scribd...your name does not pop up. Also, what software are you using?

  • @therobomaker957 : you're right. I deleted my scribd account recently. I tought nobody watched these videos anymore. You can find the schematic here: dl.dropbox.com/u/14703014/programador_attiny85.pdf . The programming software I used was avrdude. This circuit is compatible with "Nightshade ALF-PgmAVR", available in avrdudes default configuration.

  • @comac2k2

the link wont work for me, is it down or am i just doing something stupid ?

  • Ah, I see, for some reason in pasting that address it got garbled. Works now

  • @comac2k2 Unfortunately I get a 404 on that address

  • @mYOzZyKaT As far as I know, ATtiny25, ATtiny45 and ATtiny85 mainly differ in their memory capabilities (2k,4k and 8k), but the pinouts look the same.

  • @comac2k2 I will have a look and try to breadboard it out... otherwise you simply have to spell it out for me like I was 12 and had only thumbs...LOL

  • The schematic for my programmer should work for the ATtiny25, I guess. You just have to make sure you connect the signals to the right pins for your chip (check the ATtiny25 data sheet). Youtube won't allow me to post the URL to the schematic, but you can find it by searching for "comac2k avr" at scribd.

I used to live in Barcelona. Now I live in Rubi.

  • @mYOzZyKaT : beware. Technically, you might say it's "usb connected", but all the data signals come from a parallel port cable. Unplugging the USB cable turns off the LEDs only. Everything else would still work.

  • @comac2k2 So it is USB connected. Do you know where I could possibly find a diagram for a programmer that can handle the ATtiny25 chip. I guess you are using the AVRdude to flash the chip right?..

I saw you were from Barcelona. My sister lives there, or rather just north of the city.. have been there so many times.. Its a so great place to go partying and just to hang out in some of the small bars in the Gothic area..
