Not really what I expect from Ginger but it was an enjoyable performance. I wonder if she ever did something like this on Broadway. Perhaps if I saw more of this side of her, I'd like it more than what I do now. Always nice to try something new, and all that matters in the end is what she wanted, not what others wanted for her :) Love you Miss Ginger <3
OMG! This show was the first time I ever saw Ginger Rogers. I was a kid and had no clue who Fred and Ginger were. This is soooo cheesey now. Gotta love the backup dancers, though.
@Duke535 Just a minute, she didn't have to do it, no-one has to do anything if they don't want to. It's just that you aren't used to seeing Miss Rogers singing anything else.
I think it's great as I have said before see my reply to carolerory.
This song anyway transcends generations.
We all have to have diversity in our lives otherwise our repertoire would not reach other generations then it would grow stale. Performers know this.
@carolerory I think this is great. I belong to a choir and our ages range from 30 - 81 year olds and we sing songs from the 30's upwards and we are currently rehearsing Mamma Mia for concerts so please don't write us off and say we can't sing things in other people's eras - that's just rubbish. If one enjoys it why not? The enjoyment is then passed on to those watching/listening.
I think this OK too. She could have chosen another contemporary song more suited to her. Yet, I think It's amazing that she was still at it...upbeat and positive...after all these years. I think that Fred somehow carried it off better in his TV shows. I don't think he ever had her on did he? In this late life endeavor, it's harder for an older woman than an older man. It's just a fact of life. Women dominate when they are younger....as she eventually did in the 30s, at the box office over Fred.

This would have been better if she just focused on the dance number to this song.

This is soooo cute because her voice is the EXACT SAME as it was back in the 1930s! I guess not smoking paid off!

Ginger AND Doug Fairbanks JR??!!! Not a bad version..

This is not as bad as it could have been. She could have chosen a song that required a long, legato line, which would have been a mistake for her.
