I think the only reason Sonic is at the end is becouse Nintendo still has some stupid grudge against Sonic and Sega. He appears only at the end with no explanation as to what he was even doing up to that point!
Nintendo: Damn it the fans keep whining for Sonic so lets just stick him at the very end with almost no screen time. That should keep the idiots happy so we can focus on Mario.
Really Nintendo?? Seriously the fastest thing alive shouldn't be the last guy to the party!
