@jasonmfrench89 He was by far a better archer than anyone. But Fred Bear was a better actual hunter. Fred could do it alone, Howard needed an audiance. JMHO.

Licenced hunting puts more money in Africa at the local level than ANY of the charities.

:( kinda makes me sad to see the lion killed when it was only getting food. these animlas were almost hunted to extinction in the 70's, mainly down to american hunters wanting to prove themselves...

@Windwalker706 link to "cheat" info please. IF Howard did in fact cheat kills for film, it is deplorable and unbelievably unsporting. Of course, defend the herd (and your "tribe") from aggressive predators, but this seems more like a poorly justified exhibition. Also, ethical sustenance bowhunting isn't "wrong"- it is a timeless rite which has fed mankind since the dawn of time. Reverent hunters have infinite respect for our prey- for it is our prey which nourishes our families. RIP Fred Bear

This lion was chained to a tree when Howard shot it. At 1:29 you can see it clawing at the air because it can't get any closer to attack. It is at the end of the chain.
Howard is known to cheat to get kills on film. Research it!
