I appeared at a local high school in some Psychology classes to talk about hypnosis. Another class, some even more critical skeptics in attendance. Brilliant volunteer Deric DeBoef helps me demonstrate that it is very difficult to fake genuine laughter convincingly. (You all know the Laughter Blaster...)

Video shot by a student volunteer. Thank-you, Ronni!

  • I had a session today with a hypnotherapist and I think it is very much REAL.

  • @DragonAurora I think you're right. I hope you had a good session. :)

  • What suggestion did you give him on the blaster? Did he just think the sound is the funniest thing in the world?

  • @henningpink He was given the suggestion that the toy was the Laughter Blaster and that specific sound effect caused him to laugh hysterically.

  • @BrizyComics

That's just hilarious. Does the volunteer experience the laughter as a good thing? Did you ask him what he imagined when the sound of the blaster was heard?

  • @henningpink It is definitely a good thing. I did not prompt him on what to imagine, only that he would burst out laughing and that he would experience considerable joy. The result you can see.

  • @StrayerFox Yeah, I think a lot of us did!

  • I laughed with him.

  • @BrizyComics That's awesome. Yea I'm not that good. Like I said I just need a little time to get going.

  • @SatanicMeteor I can't do that. I have a friend in Civic Theater, Rem, who could just start bawling (from the heart!) as the play required him to. It was amazing!
