@eyesoftheworld0 Me vs. him? what about numerous other changes: "Place" called the Green Frog Cafe vs "Bar" or reversing the second and third verse, or changing the line on "every well I drilled" (he drops "Lord").
In reality though, Mr. Clark must have forgiven him for such trespasses as he pays tribute to Jerry Jeff in the song "Ramblin Jack and Mayhan" on 'Boats to Build", plus I am sure those royalty checks helped Mr. Clark quite a bit!

Annoying screw up of the lyrics.....he messes up the best lyric of the song. "I was just a kid but they all called HIM sidekick" Bugs the shit out of me that he sings it wrong.
