ACA P-50 West Allis, WI

ACA P-50 recorded at Greenfield Park in West Allis, WI. This siren is controlled by the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management. May 14, 2008 was the first time the sirens in Milwaukee county were activated since November of 2007. I'm glad to see this one still works. Even from 50 yards away, this siren really rattles your bones.

Camera info: Shot on a Canon Powershot A-530. I have a better quality video of this siren to be uploaded soon on a Sony Handycam Digital 8. It has 20x Optical zoom, vastly better audio quality, and is a big improvement over my Canon.

I next plan to record either an ACA Allertor 125, or a new T-135 AC/DC. (more)

@spotandtiggerbug I don't know what happens to most of them, not too many have been removed yet. There were a couple at a government auction in Texas last year, I'm sure as the ones currently in service age get replaced, there will be more that end up for sale like that. But they are HUGE, 7 feet tall and over 1500 lbs, so they are a major pain in the ass to move and store unless you have heavy duty equipment and lots of room at your disposal.
