It is mainly characterized by classical EXPRESSIVE & RHYTHMIC Kathak set to lyrics in poetry. From a devotion and temple rituals it evolved into a dance for entertainment and incorporated into its form spectacular elements such as intricate rhthym, fast pirouettes, brisk movements, and complicated footwork.
