NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!!

In 1964, when the Beatles attended a taping of the Underdog Show, John Lennon was so smitten by Sweet Polly Purebred's performance of the Bongo Congo, that he wrote "I Should Have Known Better" for her. When the Beatles performed the song in "A Hard Day's Night", he wanted to dedicate the song to Sweet Polly, but dropped the plan after pressure from Paul, George, Ringo, director Richard Lester, record producer George Martin, and Beatles manager Brian Epstein. That John also incurred the wrath of both his first wife Cynthia and Underdog himself also contributed to his decision to drop the Polly dedication.

Just kidding folks - I just wanted to upload a new Sweet Polly video with this classic Beatles song from A Hard Day's Night.

  • really this song was for sweet polly?

  • could have been...no I was just joking, I decided it was time to be creative, so I made up the story about the Beatles visiting the set of Underdog

  • It was 45 years ago today that the Beatles came to Pittsburgh to play....my sister saw them that day...and her hand touched Paul McCartney's hair....and Sweet Polly was there too!

  • Sweet Polly Purebread never looked better!

  • That episode is called the Witch of Pickyoon. In fact I did a video to that episode set I'll Follow the Sun by the Beatles. The video is titled Underdog Tribute to Pickyoon

  • Thank you. I decided to be creative with my description, after all, how many times can you say this is an Underdog/Sweet Polly video set to a Beatles song.

  • Thank you.
