You have called them Vi-kings (you- kings) in russian we called them Var-yags - warriors. No warrior caste was ever greater. Even the samurai. Samurai of equal fighting skills would loose to a viking because of sheer muscle mass and more advanced armor. Imagine a 220-300 lbs man that rows a boat for 8-10 hours a day and eats fish, dry meat and beer? Now dress him in 250 lbs of metal. Give him an axe that develops than 2000+ lbs of pressure per square inch (if one handed).
