The Book of the Film!

This is the disco version of the "Moonraker" (1979) theme. It's preformed by Shirley Bassey, who also sang the themes for "Goldfinger" (1964) and "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971) and the original "Moonraker" (1979) ballad.

LYRICS:
Where are you? Why do you hide?
Where is that moonlight trail that leads to your side?
Just like the moonraker goes in search of his dream of gold,
I search for love, for someone to have and hold,
I've seen your smile in a thousand dreams,
Felt your touch and it always seems,
You love me,
You love me.

Where are you? When will we meet?
Take my unfinished life and make it complete
Just like the moonraker knows
His dream will come true someday
I know that you are only a kiss away

I've seen your smile in a thousand dreams,
Felt your touch and it always seems,
You love me,
You love me.

  • the book of the film? I thought the films were based on books

  • @stopthesoftkill In this case, they mean that this particular book was based on the movie. Taking place in outer space. The original Moonraker novel, correct me if I'm wrong, was about Britain's 1st nuclear missile getting stolen by Drax and threatened to launch it at Britain.

  • Those 16 seconds haunt me. I can't explain it. I wish they would go on for another 4 bars. What an EPIC 16 seconds - It's a haunting piece of music on it's own but with the disco beat - Somehow it becomes more menacing and urgent. TICK THIS POST IF IT EFFECT YOU IN THE SAME WAY!!

  • Moonraker is a very underrated title song and this disco version is awesome. Shirley is very Melodic in this song and I think it really shows off her talents. LOVED IT!!!

  • Disco version of Moonraker is one of the best disco song, so melodic, so soft, so gently...so clever too!!!!!And also Sjirley's voice make me so relaxed...what more? The guitar responses are so "galactical";-)

  • @MovieMad007 Yes, but it's not quite the full version. You see the space shuttle skirting the globe to this - fantastic!

  • @aminmontrose I know what you're saying...there is something haunting about it, yet sexy at the same time. Gotta love the 70s!

  • @Lardyarce From the film "The Deep..." also a John Barry soundtrack. He got an Academy nom (along with Summer, the lyricist) for "The Deep."
