How To Make Silent Hill Nurse Mask

I got the basic idea on the structure from this tutorial then added my own artistic instincts to it.

Materials:
Plastic Bag
Plaster Strips
Paper Mache
Carving Tool (knife/exacto knife)
Brushes
Water Based Paint
Clear Sealer

Paper Mache Recipe:
3:1 Flour to Water Ratio
News Paper Strips

*I don't have the exact measurements but start out with a cup of water and then gradually start pouring in flour until you get a gloopy paste, you don't want it to be like dough but just right when it's about to turn into dough. let's say a watered down dough consistency.*

Steps:
1. Put a Plastic Bag over your head *PLEASE BE CAREFUL USE COMMON SENSE NOT TO SUFFOCATE YOURSELF IN ALL SERIOUSNESS!!* Trace your eyes, nose, and mouth, take off plastic bag and cut out marked areas so you can BREATHE and SEE.

2. Precut plaster strips into 6" long and 1" wide strips.

3. Place bag over head again. Take and tuck excess plastic and tape it back so its tight over your face.

4. Start with an X in the middle for structure reasons.

5. Start shaping plaster strips on your head. Go atleast half way on the back of your head so you shape it like a helmet, thus staying on your face without any other support.

6. Layer on atleast 2 layers of strips so it is sturdy.

7. Let it dry/harden.

8. Mix flour and water and place newspaper strips in the paste. The Paste should be "gloopy", a little heavier than glue consistency. This will give it a fleshy appearance.

9. Layer on the strips in the style desired. Make crevices to disguise the eyes.

10. It will take about 1 day to dry outside in the sunlight.

11. After dried, paint with a sealer, after sealer is dried, paint with white.

12. Pick away at the surface gently, LITTLE BIT at a time till you get the desired appearance. This will give the mask more depth.

13. Take your exacto knife and cut inbetween the crevices gently, this will also give a great way to disguise your eye sight and breathing vents. Remember, 2 holes makes is obvious that they are eyes, a long slit make it less obvious! That is my philosophy on that.

14. This is the tricky part. Painting was a little difficult to figure out. Just keep in mind, stain it, don't paint it. I used a water based paint called poster color, it is similar to water color, i'd say a hybrid between acrylic paint and water color. Watered down acrylic paint should do just fine.

1. Paper Mache, google it. Flour + Water

2. Just take the bag off after it dries.

3. Yes it's easy to breathe in this mask due to all the ventilation slits i made in between the crevices.
