  • One might think so, but sometimes when I watch 'em move I can't help but think that they're rockin'-n-rollin' to a music that I can't hear. ;-)

  • No. They retreat into the mud-covered, gravel substrate pretty quickly when touched or disturbed. Like most annelids, they are really very shy. But what rhythm! ;-)

  • My feelings exactly. But it really is quite exciting to stumble into 'em whilst filming toad tadpoles. I've only seen tubifex worms in the wild a couple of other times. ;-)

  • mmmm... hungry....

  • Well, the worms themselves are really quite small, but I'll bet they'd be a grand feast for couple of sticklebacks. ;-)

  • Like if you moved back because you thought it was a scary pop-up :D

  • Looks like these worms are having some sort of dance party XD

  • Обычный трубочник.

  • their life must be borring

  • can they harm you?

  • Interesting. I suspect that they have a protein value that's off-the-charts, but I got to tell you that I'm going to stick to eating chicken. ;-)
