There is something so impossible about Nadia - every movement she makes is so beautiful, you can't take your eyes off her and it's hard to put your finger on just what it is... She combines power with delicacy. Her personality is really visible in everything she does, her determination and confidence are so obvious. She is my all-time favourite gymnast. I love the music with this montage, by the way, it's perfect.

women's gymnastics used to be about beauty in everything. I hate how it's become almost completely based on ability to do the hardest things. sure there are required poses, but the rules changed from being able to do flowing movements on beam to hitting each pose individually. it's robotic instead of beautiful. I don't think it will ever get better either... with all of the controversy over judging, it's only going to get more and more robotic to the point where grace isn't required to succeed.

you said "Nadia will always be remembered as the number one..." i agree, but also, for me and others, Nadia means the perfection all gymnasts, for more than 30 years, are looking in the gym.
