This is another set I picked up at the Puyallup Great Train Expo in November. It was sold on a "motor not working" basis, and it sure wasn't. Not even a hum from it when I applied power. So I spent a rainy Sunday afternoon taking a closer look. Turns out the commutator was so badly gunked up that no electricity was passing through from the brushes. A little alcohol bath later and she was running like gang busters. I still need to find a headlight, but otherwise, she looks complete.

I love the way big tinplate wheels jump across the FastTrack switches.
Note the snowy dome in the last clip - the result of filming from underneath to get a 360 degree pan with the tripod.
