Tartit - Correct me if I'm wrong but by the crowd of Tauregs around me in the middle of the afternoon and their enthusiasm, I'm sure it is Tartit.

  • Hey, great stuff!!

Does anyone know what kind of ties this people may have had with the West African people who brought "capoeira" to Brazil? I know many of them were Muslim, and the music and purpose of the dances appear to be incredibly similar!

  • The symbols on the shields and on the black backdrop are Tamajaq "crosses," symbolic of regions or towns and the people who live in those regions. These are the symbols for Tchin-Tabaraden, in Niger. I lived there since 2000. :)

  • Excellent!

  • Awesome footage. I am wondering if anyone knows the iconographic history of the two shields. please rsvp and notify me, please please?

  • Tartit and Tinariwen are my favorite bands! Taureg sword ceremonies are amazing.

  • Exelent, hope someday i can travel to see that beautiful people!
