  • @cvchucks Thanks, you been a real help!

  • @EJthecountryboyGRAY 'Yep, that's absolutely fine. They will mate really well, they work better in a harem, rather than in pairs and trios. There are lots of myths about turks and that is one of them.

  • @cvchucks All I know is they are bronze turkey,I believe they are standard bronze, but I cant remember what he told me,I'm getting them from a feed store, but I believe the sign said standard bronze, but I wont know until may 6th.

    Is that good,do they reproduce?

  • @EJthecountryboyGRAY Hi, some of the really big commercial whites don't reproduce without AI, but I've never met a bronze who can't mate naturally. Are yours going to be commercial type, or the more natural single breasted type?

  • @cvchucks Hey back again with another question,I been hearing bronze turkey cant reproduce, cant they,if not they aren't any good to me seeing how I want to raise them and all.

Help me out! I haven't found any info online, some say they do,some say they dont.

    Do yours reproduce naturally?

    I NEED HELP!!!

  • @cvchucks Thanks for the info,I appreciate it,and dont tell me that about wanting alot of them,I already got it in my head to raise and sell them, but not sure,it may be like our chickens, started with a few and ended up with up to 80 at one tim,LOL,but thanks again!

  • @EJthecountryboyGRAY They're addictive so be careful lol - You will want more!! They usually stay in the field as long as you make plenty of nests for the females or they go searching.

  • @cvchucks No we got a good sized fly pen,and it has a metal barrior at the bottom, but we would have to build another, thats why I was asking about putting them in a field,we got our minature goats in a good sized field, but I didn't know if they would get over the fence, but like I say, raised chickens since I was little, and just got some new rhode island reds, but never turkey, but I'm gonna give it a shot,if I need to know anything else about them let me know please, and thanks for the help!!!

  • @EJthecountryboyGRAY They get on well with most animals, ur goats should be ok. I raised these from day olds, so once off heat they went into a rearing pen until chicken sized then let loose. The hens may fly over when laying they're a pain for that but not very often. Not much different to chickens but worm regularly and be prepared for them to not go home at night but to sit on the roof or up a tree. If your larger pen is fox proof I wouldn't shut them in a small pen, they like to roam around.

  • About the bronze turkey, what do you think of them,I'm fixing to buy some,we have goats and chickens, but I was wondering,if you raise them from poults if you put them out in a feild, first off, they wont get out or leave will they,3 foot fence-higher in parts, and how will they get along with goats,or should I build another fly pen for them like I got my chickens in?

Please let me know, getting them may 6th

    Thanks!!!

I have no knowledge of turkey, but I raise chickens, cant be much different can it?
