On this episode we create gifts in a jar!
Here is the recipe:
Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Ingredients for jar:
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
3/4 tsp allspice
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 cup white flour
1 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
Instructions for jar:
1. In a 1 quart jar pack brown sugar in bottom and make level. Pour white sugar over and level.
2. In a small bowl combine allspice,baking powder.,baking soda and flour. Mix well and carefully spoon over sugar.
3. Pour oats over flour and level. Sprinkle raisins on top and press down. Sprinkle nuts over raisins. Place lid on jar.
Instructions on the jar for the recipient.
You will need:
1egg
1/2 cup butter, softened
Preheat oven to 350. Pour contents of jar into a mixing bowl and add egg and butter.
Mix until well blended. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 -15 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute.
