Redwood ran one of hell of a race at Meydan this year in the Sheema Classic. Taking Rewilding(RIP) to the wall, and very nearly upsetting him in that race. Rewilding proved his Sheema Classic win was no fluke by beating the Aussie wonder horse, So You Think, in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Ascot. Before his ill fated King George run. Redwood also ran a really big effort to finish 2nd to Mastery at Sha Tin in the G1 Hong Kong Vase as well.
A very weak renewal of the Northern Dancer coming in 2011 compared to this running. Even though he's untried beyond 10f so far in his career, I would still give the nod to Wigmore Hall in this year's Northern Dancer. He's a class horse by High Chaparral that's won multiple times over 1-1/4. But being by High Chaparral, he should be able to get 1-1/2. Every year that the Euro's come to Woodbine for this race and the Canadian International, they're tough to beat. Redwood and Joshua Tree in 2010.
