Occupy Daytona Beach 15 October 2011 - Afternoon General Assembly

This is my footage from the 15 October 2011 afternoon General Assembly of Occupation Daytona Beach in Tuscawilla Park. My camera ran out of batteries at one point so there's a moment when I switch to a lower resolution camera towards the end of the video.

The Assembly lasted about an hour and several topics were discussed including corporate personhood, corporate accountability, the federal tax code, Citizen's United vs The Federal Election Commission, banking practices, and regulatory accountability as well as what actions the Occupiers would like to take in regards to these issues. Ideas were put forth for future Occupation activities including a vote for when and where an organizational meeting should occur (next Saturday at City Island Park).

At the end of the Assembly the Occupiers were addressed by a representative of Veterans for Peace.

All age groups, political affiliations and nearly all races were represented among the protesters. There were no altercations and the Daytona Police Department was both fair and supportive. It's worth noting that this is the middle of Biketoberfest so you will want to turn down the bass in your audio system if you can.
