America's power grid is aging. Many of the 500,000 miles of transmission lines are more than 50 years old, a concern, as the design-life for many of the components is only 30 to 35 years on average.

  • Good information there. There is a growing need to improve the grid reliability...As you know transformers are a critical component in the energy distribution network. Hence the efficiency and reliability of transformers is important. There are various factors which influence the reliability of the transformers. The Pacific Crest Transformers website has articles related to transformers.
