Wherein Samus recaps the first two Metroid games, doesn't make Ridley drop the Metroid larva and manages to dodge a lot more steam vents than usual.

  • Oh man finally!

But, um... Brick, what happened to that emulator I told you about? You could use it to do a perfect 150% speed and still keep the awesome music going at the original tempo.

Also, fun fact: You never have to save at the gunship after you land on Zebes, that's done for you automatically.

  • True, I just did it for dramatic effect. =)

I'm kind of attached to this emulator now and totally forgot I was supposed to check out that other one. My bad.

  • 3:35 - I didn't. I've played this game many times.

  • Good man.

  • hey bickroad, what do you think about metroid fusion. im asking this because i had that game ever since it came out in 2002, and out of all the metroids i played, its still my favorite. do you think this is fair, or am i just blinded by nostalgia? either way, super metroid is my second favorite

  • I beg to differ. Super Metroid is NOT the best game ever, but it is EXTREMELY AWESOME

  • @brickroadbrickroad I don't know Brick! I bought metroid for GBA thinking oh it's just like the others.... but it's not! from what I've seen Super metroid is MUCH better

  • Oh yeah. Also, it's not actually necessary to explicitly save at Samus' ship at the start. The game autosaves your progress until you reach that point.

  • You know, RetroZone sells adapters that let you plug NES and SNES controllers into a Wii, among other things. Worth checking out if you want to play it on Wii and still use the controller you're used to.

  • i got this for free:P

  • I know what you mean about the controller differences messing you up. I'm the same way with Final Fantasy 3 on SNES. I rented it repeatedly as a kid, never able to keep it long enough to finish the game, and when I got an emulator I tried to play it that way. It's unplayable to me. Same on the playstation version. It's strange, but there you are.

  • haha man, us two would get along quite well, this game is a legend among me and my dad, and while i suck at the shinespark, i rule at wall jumping, i got the wave beam before getting the jump boots and varia suit once yussss

  • great intro brick. good vid 5 stars
