they never actually thought the c64 could do this :-)

@Gekneveld You should see it in 'happy' mode!

Damn this brings it back. In 93 most people had either a Snes with Mario or a Megadrive with Sonic when along came this... a kind of hybrid of both. Still can't believe it was so fast and smooth!
Actually, I remember Commodore Format tracking this game during development and then giving it a 100% rating!
Well worth it you ask me...

This was the last game I brought for the C64, probably a year or so before getting an Amiga

I actually like the extremely minimal music. Very atmospheric. The sound-effects integrate very well.
Never had a C64 though :S. But the Amiga was even better :D.

@Loruxz25 Personally, I think that goes to Elite or Pirates! :)

One of the most technologically impressive C64 games out there!

I don't think that C64 graphics could get any better than this. Also the gameplay was top notch. It's one of those games that arrived a little to late but that said C64 was still the best selling PC of all time.

devuur is probably a sad little WoW ass player... 8 bit rules! =)

Unbelievably smooth scrolling for a C64 game! Great coding work, great game!
and it will still be fine.. cpus are SO fast.
If everything was coded in straight assembly like back then for something like this.. games could run on processors half as fast, maybe less.
Too bad coding in assembly for a large project is disgustingly complex AND not portable which is a big concern.
It's so much easier to code these days.. better IDEs, faster computers, less planning is needed... however, if you really want to be an amazing coder.. learn it right.. be efficient.

Even by today's "standards" this is still brilliant!
