I pretty much finished my new Cigar Box Uke and thought I'd show it off. It's an Ashton box, a Mainland neck, Aquila strings and I made the saddle and nut out of popsickle sticks. I installed a pickup which is a piezo buzzer from Radio Shack. I put on a strap button and a shoe string strap. It has three coats of Minwax water based finish.
aloha, great job, i just bought a piezo buzzer at radio shack, took it apart, am a bit confused about how to wire it up to work as an instrument pickup. There are some youtube videos showing how to convert a radio shack piezo transducers to pickups, but they do not seem to have the small computer board as the buzzer does. Plus there are three wires on the buzzer, instead of two as with a transducer, so maybe you have some clues as to how to rig it up???? appreciate any clues....mahalo, forest
