On the trail in the Ozarks August 2009

Walking along the Galloway trail in August at the end of summer. These are only some of the scenes along the many miles you can find in the Ozarks.

First we passed the Recycle Center.

Caution as you approach the underpass at the railroad trestle: cyclists like to go at top speed to get up the other side.

Then we go by the firebreak where the high power lines cross over.

Dakota tries to escape his head collar and then resumes walking.

Seats are sponsored memorials to loved ones and are found all along the trail. The first vandalism I have seen was about 2 weeks ago. First the black paint appeared and the next time I walked by the red paint was there.

Someone left roses at one of the seats located in Sequiota Park.

At the 2.3 mark there is a small path to the creek. This is fed by water coming out of a cave in the middle of the park.

At the 360 view where the "No Alcohol" sign is posted I recently came across a drunken female who bowed to Dakota and laid down in respect. Don't know exactly what that meant.

Heading back where we came from, Dakota insisted on one more drink down in a low spot of the creek bed that holds water way below the trail level. In spring the high water line can be seen by the erosion under the tree.

Finally at the end, we go under Battlefield Street to get back to the car.
