I agree -- Kim was an amazing vaulter. I think the CoPs in the early 90s made it too easy to score well on vault. I think Kim (and some others) would have been doing DTYs in 92 had they needed them. Props to athletes like lyssenko who went for it anyway!

JEEEZ! That was a HUGE vault!!!!

why does she wear those things on her hands

one of the best yurchenko 1.5s I've EVER seen.

Kim was robbed on that yurchenko 1/5 though. I would have given her atleast 9.650 out of 9.800.

@kwan4life who exactly are you referring to. No offense to Kim but she was a gymnast from the early 90s trying to make a comeback at the end of the decade. Even healthy she would have been hard pressed to make the team, forget giving the U.S a big push. Miller also was past her prime by 2000 even if she wasnt hurt. Moceanu maybe. Atler got injured in 99 and was never the same so maybe you mean here too.

I completely agree with you!! That quad just sucked everyone who could have made a difference was hurt!!!
Her vaults rocked even though the start values are lower. Still vaults as great as ever!!

She easily could have done a DTY with more training time
