@rleddington According to the commentary on the DVD box he wanted to play the princess. Peter said that he also wouldn't have minded playing the princess.

@rleddington they were all hilarious in that episode. there's no doubt that he did the best acting job but the other three played their roles greatly. especially mickey dolenz

He was the only, one of the Monkees that was hilarious in that episode.
Shows that he can play just about any part, and not be shy about it.
I bet his kids and grand-kids get a big kick out of it.
Hmm....... I wonder how much money they did, have to pay him to put on a dress ?
