@senbon1000 Keep working at it, Uchimata is by far one of the hardest techniques in Judo to master.

Yes, works great, I went to a wrestling class a decade ago, and threw them all with it, they didnt have this throw in their system and weren't up to defending it, so it worked well. Heaviest guy was 120kg, and ten training there of club and lower national level 5 to 10 years experience...I am 80kg.

Suggestion: When you first start a match, during kumikata get a hold of your opponents right sleeve with your left hand. Then get the overhead grip or the lapel grip with your other hand. As soon as you get a good grip, COMMIT to the throw. If you do not commit, of course, you will get thrown. If you don't commit in any throw, anyone can get countered.
