  • Good stuff! Your head is too low, align it with your spine...cus you head is too low you tend to over-rotate on your right side...just be relaxed no need tp push your head down...

  • @vdsadr Its my massive head that weights so much that makes it sink ;) just in case if anyone else manage to develop this sort of a habit, concentrate on lengthening up and moving your head forward, did the trick for me, although I still catch myself on it from time to time, it never really bothered me too much except the fact that people were constantly poining it out and it actually is a bit better to keep it a bit higher in the water then you can see on this video ;)

  • beautiful video. I just started TI freestyle from the video, very useful, and the book, not so. I've cut my 25 meter strokes down from 22 to 14 and am swimming faster with much less energy. I'm still finding the breathing a challenge though and need to stop and catch my breath after 200 m.

  • @papadogo1 keep it short and focus on breathing there is no point to start building up distance until you are happy about your technique, go back to breathing exercises, if you have a chance video yourself to find the reason for this problem, otherwise ask someone to have a look at you and tell you if you are lifting your head up or pulling with leading arm while breathing, blowing out is vital as well, hard to say to many variables ;)

  • @zdrastkakcii Thanks but I'm afraid that's not the only time when I can see myself dropping with the elbow now it is not as big as in the shallow pool but it is still present, all I can say in my defense is that this video is over 2 years old and I was just starting to be happy enough with my balance and streamline never mind the catch ;)

  • @smoochswimmer if you know my name I'm guessing you know me in real life so just ask me when you'll see me next time. If you can't email me at kris@swimming.ie and I will try to help you as much as I can this way. Tough question with 400m time as I don't do timed 400m swims last time I was checking I had just below 22min in ow on 1500, goal is to go sub 20 so I have to focus on speed a bit more now. It's hard to say what speed these shots were taken at as I was doing them for self video analyse

  • Wow, awesome footage Kris. Can I ask what sort of speed you are swimming in these clips? What's your 400m time? I would love to be able to swim like you!

  • @acinprov

i guess the elbow dropping form was due to shallow water and he was avoiding to hit the bottom

  • Useful video, I'm working on my two beat kick at the moment so this is very helpful. Thanks.

  • your gliding is very good

  • Inspiring
