Tribute to Reks

my tribute to Reks, the first playable character of ffxii. after the prologue, the game seldom mentions Reks, so as a result most players know him as the character that introduced them to ffxii gameplay. i believe Reks represents much more than that. i thought this song matches reks perfectly. anyway, its only my second vid and i'm still new at this, so please comment and rate. the info shows up in the credits, but i'll show it here also:

i stopped playing this game once reks died and i saw the dumbass i was gonna be playing as. i was like wtf i liked that guy. and then i saw vaan and i was like fuck this game

FFXII didn't really have what we can call a traditional main character. The only people who were directly involved with the main storyline are Basch and Ashe and even still they didn't really act like main characters. All the other characters kinda just tagged along for the ride. Hence, when I played this game, I gave the main character role to Balthier. I mean, he's always saying that he plays the lead role so why not just give it to him? There's no other character that seems to more qualified.

I'm not talking bad about Vaan. I'm just saying that Reks didn't get nearly enough attention throughout the game. Initially, Vaan's motive to strike against the empire was good, but it died out quite quickly. It seemed like Reks was just a way to introduce the gameplay system, nothing else and overall I was disappointed at how quickly Vaan forgot about him.

I know this post is old. But I do agree with this. Throughout FF12, Vaan and Penelo Held no Weight and were just sitting in the back of the plot! As far as I cared, I didn't Like them! Reks was more interesting because he Witnessed Basch's Betrayel! Dosen't that Make the Story more interesting? It would also mean that if he would've live for 2 years pass that event and the fall of his home, he would've wanted to know if Basch was the one that stabbed him!

@MaddyUndAlli Yeah... Me too... Reks's death crashed my heart... I was crying a lot with his laments... and when he said: 'Vaan...' I said: 'WHAAAAAAT??? IT'S IMPOSIBLEEE!!!' And I cryed so much in this moment... I'm so bad seeing Reks... I want to... play as Reks not Vaan too
