In this film shot in 1975 (after the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and before the Sir Henry movie) Viv articulates his interests and obsessions with his usual surreal humour and some intoxication by the river. "If I had all the money I've spent on drink — I'd spend it on drink." Vivian Stanshall -- a thourghally good egg.

  • What a brilliant brilliant man. Still much loved and missed. The world could do with a few more Vivian's in these serious and dark days...God bless you Viv. A

  • He has more genius & imagination than a whole class of present day high school students. Speaking of, what has happened to imagination? It seems to be devalued these days......

  • this is quite wonderful. As indeed is he.

  • "However, when he isn't working his passion is making medieval instruments - Lutes, Dulcimers, Hurdy Gurdys, even Virginals, on which, as you can hear, he makes an impossible row..." I love that bit. I was 15 when this was on the tv, loved the Bonzos, didn't really understand much of the humour of this show, but knew I liked it. I'm so happy to be able to see it again at the age of fifty bloody one. Thank you so much for uploading it.

  • "...it's a ukelele in the shape of a flying duck...I was trying to get one in the shape of a flying Peter Scott...."

Now my face hurts, in a pleasant manner :))

  • A Good Egg indeed...

  • Absolute genius. Thankyou so much.

  • huzzah!
