A new product from Microsoft Research. The Sphere comes from the same Microsoft Researchers that developed the Surface, aka "PlayTable".

This is cool, but there is also Microsoft toilet which flushes into any country of the world. For a cheaper price you can buy a portable digital projector connect to a computer and just shine the image on to random pieces of furniture in your house. Wait for someone to walk by and then scream, "it's the future! Look what I've created! My refrigerator is now a virtual cube!"

Yes, the obvious application would be to project Google Earth data. That would be enormously beneficial.
