u dont have to pay for internet aslong as ur in a wi fi zone i sugest get an app called free wi-fi finder at the app store is free apps are from free 0.99 - 5.00 10.00 dollors music is $0,99 movies $15.00

It depends how big you get it. If you get an 8GB then you get about 1750 songs.
