This song is called "Change". It's by Caitlin DeMuth of Lynx. AliCat gave me this album, Grains of Sand last year at her wedding. It will always remind me of dancing with her and Jewels and Shakti in that beautiful house by the ocean.

I love this song. I love the message and her voice and the feeling mirrors how I'm feeling about the world right now.

I filmed a tutorial right before this and there were no lights in the studio because after I set everything up, someone up the street had an accident and knocked out the power to the whole block. I decided to film anyway, even though I knew it would be dark. Then, halfway through this song, the lights came back on! Pretty neat timing too.

  • Caroleeena.... that was just beautiful. :) Covet your transitions, lol. At this point, though, would be happy to get that front-to-back weave. I wonder if my heavy hoops are the problem. What size is your hoop, please? I made heavy hoops b/c of my size and newbieness at the time, but have shrunk and gotten better at hooping (yay) and could go with smaller/lighter hoops now, just don't want to go too light. Please advise? Thanks again for all your help. :)

  • @upway2l8again Thank you! My hoop is 1/2" diameter, 100 psi tubing and it's 39 or 40-inches in size. It's pretty light but as large as I can manage and still do the moves I want to do. Having it big makes it easier to do things because it comes around slower but having it light allows me to easily wield it with my hands. It took some getting used to as first but that happened fast and now it's my favorite.

  • now thats really cool !!!!! so why put on a show costing million and also boring for a bunch of revolting bureaucrats, let them watch YouTube or better yet let them go to Hell,

  • @NiteAngel I appreciate that you like my video. The dance program at the white house is not just for boring bureaucrats though. It is a program to introduce children to dance, which has health benefits as well as is art. That's why I'm grateful for it. I had no exposure to dance as a child. I wish I had. And I'm glad these kids do. I saw the photos of them learning from some of the best dancers in our country and I was so proud and happy for them. What an opportunity and a blessing.

  • wow! absolutely fantastic, your movements were so effortless and graceful. Soft like a breeze! And I love that trick where you throw it behind ur back and then catch it with the opposite hand...brilliant! perfect ending too

  • @ShpongledHoops Thanks Doll! I have a tutorial of that move online in case you haven't seen it.

  • 2:25 made me smile

  • @Caroleeena Thanks for the quick reply! I found a hoop in the basement I'd cobbled together from two store-boughts that I broke down again and made smaller, and finally *got* that front-to-back. Appreciate your continued inspiration. :)

  • This is my favourite hooping video bar none (am SOOOO sorry Mulder, but you DO run a close 2nd :o)

  • You are so graceful. What a beautiful inspiration you are. Thank you for sharing!
