A Horse Falls at the Sligo Races, County Sligo, Ireland

A gallant mare fell at the Sligo Races on July 5, 2009. She had run almost two and a half miles. The turf was soaked from torrents of rain that fell on and off all day. The third time she came around the bend and cleared the final hurdle, she fell. The crowd was silent as the horse lay on the track without moving. The vets came and the mare still did not move. The horse ambulance arrived. Did they have to put her down?

Yes. I'm glad he stayed with her, too. He commented on the video a year or so ago. He said the mare's name is Sea Stack. She is now retired.

Hi. what a relief. You care about the horse. I think she was out of it for a few minutes. The vets were ready to put her down until they saw she wanted to get up. When she slipped and fell, she may have hit herself so that the wind was knocked out of her.

@djockire I did some research, and found out it was just the breed. Sorry for saying what I did. It just is I own arabians and this horse looks a little skinny.. Please forgive me ;;
