@MrZeitun They are usually played by a woman because a man would sing like a MAN not a young boy. When young boys sing they kind of sound like girls. Also they needed some one with gymnastic experience to do all the moves. They couldnt have a young boy play it because those are live and BIG shows. They cant teach a boy to do that. She might not look like a young boy but its not the real thing.

And yeah she did Do all the moves While singing:) I didnt believe it either but I had to look it up XD

Seriously? She looks like a mature woman (geez, those close-ups!), she moves like a trained mature woman, but mostly, she SINGS like a mature woman (albeit beautifully.) The voice is too big, the vibrato is too big, and the lip-sync does not help... Isn't Peter pan supposed to be A YOUNG BOY? Not that I have anything against women singing male parts (called «trousers» in the opera world), but you have to chose the GIRL carefully. This is what is called an absolute miscast. Sorry.

@240ization Because most men can't be small enough/sound small enough to be Peter Pan. Women sound much younger, so it's easier for a woman to play a young boy than a man.
