Hang gliding with GPS data / Google Maps overlay

Recorded GPS data (Garmin Forerunner) and video (GoPro Hero HD) of a flight in Werfenweng, Austria and combined both in a post-processing step using custom code. Being able to monitor the sink rate, speed, and route during different phases of the flight is quite interesting. Full VG during the flight to have more data available...

@bergsi Danke! Ich würde diese Daten gerne öfter integrieren. Leider ist das sehr zeitaufwändig, da das vollständige Videomaterial vor dem Schnitt mit der Einblendung versehen werden muss. Kann ich mir sehr gut für einen Streckenflug vorstellen - vielleicht schaffe ich das 2011 noch :)

@schipo1 Vielen Dank! Anfangs hatte ich eine ContourHD (Standard), jetzt (und auch in diesem Video) verwende ich eine GoPro Hero HD im 720p Modus. Diese Helmkameras sind einfach zu montieren und liefern trotz geringer Größe und vergleichsweise kleinem Preis eine gute Qualität.
