Part the First
'O look I shall crack open upon your very table,'
cried the monster cake
a shiver of brown filling running through its midsection
'Wait for me, wait for me!'
It was the green thing, hovering just over its head
The judges looked on a dull hunger in their eyes
The cake maker rushed onward
'If by my life or death I can assemble you I shall!'

Part the Second

With haste he scurried to the side of the ailing frost
The green was wavering, the cake, it cried out,
"Oh, but the time you have wasted! "
and then chuckling, oh yes, this beast, this vision of failure
was making a mockery of not only his own destruction,
but especially of the efforts of the cakemaker
The cake maker loathed the blob in that instant, and he took
Into his palm the green hat that would complete the beast
If only it could hold its insides together long enough
For the cake maker to finish his mocking art

Part The Third

The ground seemed verily to shake underneath
His wobegotten toes
Everyone, everywhere: waiting, watching
praying.
Monster cake sighed and released his burden
toppling in an inexorable sway
reminiscent of the house of Usher
And yet, and yet the cake maker plowed ahead
Blind to his doom, blind to his misery,
blind to the joy of all those who witnessed it
