@MrBYU1, The problem there is that byu didn't beat even one team on their 1984 schedule that finished the season ranked in the top 25 polls that year. byu had no proof to show that they were #1 because they were not tested against any quality teams. Just because the voters and polls say that a team is #1 doesn't mean they're correct. How many times have we seen the #1 team in college football NOT BE the true #1?! Exactly.
