Here is a video of my trip to Greece in October of 2005. Pics and clips are taken in the towns of Kiparissia, Filiatra, my hometown of Gargaliani and the city of Kalamata. All these are located in the perfecture (nomos) of Messinia, in South West of the Peloponnese.

I plan on so doing. My whole family is exciting about seeing Filiatra. My brother was at the Orthodox camp in Bartholomiou (Andravida) and went. He said it was just like Grandmas descibed it.

My maternal Grandmother, Glykeria Dimitriou Vafakou was born in Filiatra in 1897. She came to America in 1912 with her mother, Meryanthy Vafakou nee Bakopoulo, and sister, Dionysia. We always heard about beautiful Filiatra.

Well you should go visit also...lol! It is really beautiful down there and not a lot of tourists, which will make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
